Graduates implement current principles and methodology of English Language Teaching and general educational practices. They are conscientious, educational team leaders with a solid theoretical understanding of and a practical approach to the academic, pedagogical, and managerial areas in the field. Graduates are reflective practitioners, continuously developing professionally beyond the classroom.
English Language Teaching graduates can expect to be tutors of the language and English teachers in private and public sector educational institutions. As program managers they are team leaders in a language academy or school, guiding staff members and innovating and improving English programs.
At UVG, future English Language Teaching graduates witness good teaching practices, that can be imitated in the secondary classroom context. Professors frequently step aside, facilitating active learning and allowing the teacher to assess students’ grasp of the new concepts. Steady, consistent feedback both individually and collectively allows students to focus on personal growth and areas of need. And students’ feedback gives professors the opportunity to adjust the teaching-learning process. Students get the time and space to self-reflect so they can plan, organize, and monitor their own work and learning process. Professors’ passion for the field stimulates students’ engagement and a positive responses to the learning process.
Being a student at UVG is always a pleasure. It is an opportunity to challenge your abilities in all areas through educational projects that encourage you to propose innovations in the field and transform your environment. Each course encourages you to develop your abilities and skills, promoting constant personal, academic, and professional growth and opening spaces for keeping updated. In my case, the program fostered reaching goals beyond expectations to make a change in education, not only in our country but abroad.
